Dr. Parul Jayakar, MD, MS, FAAP, FACMG

Dr. Parul Jayakar is board certified in clinical genetics, cytogenetics and pediatrics. She is the director of the hospital’s state-of-the-art Cytogenetics Laboratory, and has extensive experience in evaluating children with suspected neurogenetic and metabolic disorders. She collaborates with experts around the world in the diagnosis and research of rare, complex, genetic disorders. Dr. Jayakar is also a consultant for the hospital’s Craniofacial Center.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Delhi, India, and completed postgraduate training in pediatrics at the Royal College of Physicians. She also has a master’s degree in Human Genetics from the University of Manitoba, Canada. She completed her pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. Dr. Jayakar has published numerous professional papers, and is a member of several professional societies.
